Meet Rikas — an everbearing strawberry from Spain that's sweet to the core. Bred by Fresas Nuevos Materiales in Huelva, the heart of Spanish strawberry country, Rikas was selected for exceptional sweetness and firm, long-keeping berries with a long conical shape and a glossy, light-red finish.

Quick highlights:
- Hardiness: Vigorous and resilient, with moderate tolerance to powdery mildew, Verticillium wilt and crown rot.
- Productivity: Generous yields from summer into fall.
- Berry size: Medium, long conical berries with a glossy, light-red skin.
- Flavour: Very sweet, with a remarkably high sugar content.
- Firmness: Very firm and bruise-resistant, with a long storage life

As an everbearer, Rikas keeps flowering and fruiting week after week until fall frost. Its upright, open habit holds the berries up on long stems for easy picking, and its flesh is red right through to the centre. Plant it in full sun in rich, well-drained soil, water at the base of the plants, and set the crown level with the soil surface for a strong start. Grown with care by Lareault, Canada's largest berry nursery.

This product is formatted as a plug plant, sold individually from trays of 50 plugs. A plug is a young plant already rooted in an individual cell of growing mix. Unlike bare root plants, plugs arrive actively growing with a well-formed root ball, so they settle in quickly, handle transplanting with less stress, and give you a more flexible planting window. Just pop them in the ground and let them get to work. It's berry easy!
