Meet Honey Bee — the hardworking haskap that lives up to its name. Vigorous, early to bear, and buzzing with productivity, this variety was bred at the University of Saskatchewan to be both a pollinator and a reliable producer of its own delicious fruit.

Quick highlights:
Hardiness: Extremely hardy; thrives in cold northern climates.
Productivity: Very high yields on fast-growing, upright bushes.
Berry size: Medium-large, elongated blue berries that hold firmly to the plant.
Flavour: Bright and tart, with a hint of sweetness and a pleasant tang.
Firmness: Holds tightly to the stem, staying on the bush long after ripening.

Honey Bee fruits early and pairs beautifully with Aurora, Borealis, Tundra, and Indigo Gem as a pollinator. Its firm, cylindrical berries ripen in late June and stay on the bush longer than most haskaps — reducing drop loss and extending the picking window. While the fruit’s stems make it less suited for mechanical harvest, its tart-sweet flavour is perfect for fresh eating, preserves, juices, and wine. A tough and attractive shrub, Honey Bee adds vigour and flavour to every haskap planting.

Pollination Partners:
Honey Bee is one of the most versatile pollinators in the haskap lineup — it syncs well with Aurora, Tundra, Borealis, Indigo Gem, and Indigo Treat. Boreal Blizzard and Boreal Beast are workable partners. Boreal Beauty is the one variety that does not pair well with Honey Bee.
