Introducing Indigo Gem — a compact haskap variety prized for its bloom timing, self-fruiting ability (with lower yields), and beautiful berries.
Quick highlights:
• Hardiness: Cold-tolerant.
• Productivity: Medium yields when alone, higher with pollinators.
• Berry size: Medium fruit with rich flavour profile.
• Firmness: Moderately firm — nice for both fresh use and light storage.
Indigo Gem is one of the “Indigo series” from USask, sibling to Borealis and Tundra. While somewhat smaller when planted alone, it produces generously when pollinated well. Stylish and productive, it’s great for gardens where space or bloom pairing is considered.
